Ship Blocks
Ship blocks are the heart and soul of Ships Mod. These blocks bring your ships to life and allow you to sail them throughout the world. The ship blocks come in various sizes, which allow you to build ships of varying sizes, and require resources of varying rarities.

Ship components
These blocks and items are needed for sailing ships.
-
- 5 x Stick
Paddle
Needed to sail a tiny ship. Just use it on the tiny ship block to sail your ship.
-
- 4 x Stick
- 2 x Iron
Helm
Needed to sail all but the tiny ship. Place a helm on your ship along with a ship block and use it to start sailing. Your ship will need some sails too. Sails are just cloth blocks that are exposed to open air. The more sails you have, the faster your ship will go.
Ship accessories
These items and blocks aren't strictly necessary for sailing ships, but they can help.
-
- 1 x Gold
- 2 x Stick
- 3 x Wool
Berth
Berths are like beds, but they work specifically on ships. Beds won't work very well on ships, but if you sleep in a berth on your ship, you'll always respawn on your ship.
-
- 6 x Paper
- 1 x Tiny ship block
- 2 x Stick
Ship Clipboard
The ship clipboard lets make copies of ships. Use the clipboard on a docked ship's ship block to copy the ship to the clipboard. While the ship is on the clipboard, you can paste it to a website by pressing e.g. Ctrl-V. In creative mode, you can use the clipboard to paste the ship into a world by using it on empty water. This won't work in survival mode though. If you want something like pasting ships in survival mode, check out the Ship Projector below. You can also copy a ship to the clipboard from a website by copying encoded ship text using e.g. Ctrl-C.
-
- 1 x Boat
- 1 x Lapis Lazuli
- 2 x Iron
- 1 x Glass
Ship Projector
The Ship Projector lets you project a blueprint of a ship onto the space above some empty water. The blueprint makes a great guide if you want to build a ship in Survival mode where the paste function of the Ship Clipboard doesn't work. Just copy a ship to the clipboard and then place a Ship Projector on a water block.
Patreon rewards
These items are rewards for being a patron on Patreon, but the Patreon campaign has been discontinued. The items are still described here for posterity. They can only be used by patrons, so they won't be useful for anyone else. These items are not necessary to enjoy Ships Mod, but they do add some extra fun and purely cosmetic elements to the game.
